Özet:

This study discusses the significance of intelligence analysis in terms of both being a phase within the whole intelligence cylce and its effectiveness for intelligence affairs. Intelligence analysis is not only a phase for the intelligence production process, but also an activity to transform information into intelligence. Thus, this study also presents new cyclic models of transformation of information and truth which are the primary objects of the intelligence analysis. Analysis is the central part of the process because of several arguments. Firstly, intelligence analysis allows a state to avoid strategic and tactical surprises. Secondly, it also allows a state to create an influence over target entities. Both capabilities are among the primary objectives of intelligence affairs. As a result of this research, two sides of methodological debate that are intuitive approach and exploitation of structured analytic techniques should be systematically synthesized in order to reach to an appropriate understanding, thus creating an influence.
