Çocuğun cinsel istismarı bir ülke için ve ülkenin geleceği için çok önemli bir konudur çünkü çocuklar oülkenin gelecekleridirler.Çocuk pornografisi, ensest, çocuğa tecavüz, en yaygın çocuk istismarlarıdır. Tüm istismarcılar AIDS'den korkarlar ve aynı zamanda bilirler ki HIV virüsü taşıması en az muhtemel olan çocuklardır. Bu istismarlar çocukların hem çocukluğunu hem de yetişkinliğini etkiler, dahası çocukları yetişkinliğinde muhtemel bir çocuk istismarcısı yapar. Tüm dünyadan toplanan çocuk pornografisi ve tecavüzü verileri bu istismarların tüm ülkelerde oldukça yaygın olduğunu göstermesine rağmen, ensest verileri bu kadar yaygın değildir. Aksine, biliyoruz ki ensest Türkiye dahil tüm ülkelerde yaygındır. Bu ikilemin bir sebebi ensest vakalarının yetkili mercilere intikal etmemesidir. Çocuk Şube Müdürlükleri Türkiye'de çocuk istismarını önlemeye yönelik yeni ve güzel bir adımdır, fakat bazı eksiklikleri vardır. Bu çalışmada, dünyadaki çocuk cinsel istismarı ile ilgili bir özet verilecek ve bu konudaki Türkiye'deki gerçekler vurgulanacaktır.
Sexual abuse of the children is one of the most important problems for a country and for the future of a country because the children are the next generation of a country. Child pornography, incest, child rape are the most common abuses of children. All abusers are afraid of AIDS and they also know lhat the children are the less probable HIV infectors. These abuses affect children's either cildhood or adulthood. Moreover, these abuses make children a probable child abuser in their adulthood. Although the data collected all over the world regarding the child pornography and child rape indicate that child pornography and child rape are very common in all countries, the data with regard to the incest indicate that it is not so common. On the contrary, we know that incest is very common in all countries including Turkey, too. One of the reasons for this situation is that incest cases are not reported to the police. The establishment of Child Departments of the Police is a new and a good step to prevent child abuse in Turkey. Neverthless, it has some efficiency problems. In this study, the sexual abuse of the children in the world is briefly discussed and the facts about this subject in Turkey are emphasized.
