Aim: In Taekwondo, it is important to decide and perform the most accurate reaction against to the competitor's unpredictable move as soon as possible. In this study, it was aimed to compare the auditory and visual jump reaction times of taekwondo athletes.
Methods: One hundred and sixty taekwondo athletes competing in different categories voluntarily participated in this study. The reaction times of the athletes were measured by Optojump Migrogate. The reaction times of the athletes were compared according to gender, competition category, sports age and success status. T-test and analysis of variance were used for comparisons.
Results: There were statistically significant differences in the reaction times of the athletes in gender, competition category, sports age and success status (p<0,05), and the reaction times of the athletes with and without regional degrees were similar.
Conclusion: It can be said that athletes who are older, have more experience and have the ability to react faster are more successful.
