Liderlik birlikte yaşamın getirdiği bir zorunluluk olarak insan topluluklarının tamamında görülen bir işlevdir. Liderlik edilecek kitle bütün toplum olduğunda liderliğin boyutu siyasal liderliğe dönüşmekte ve siyaset biliminin en önemli temalarından birisi haline gelmektedir. Türkiye özelinde siyasi kültür ve toplumsal muhayyilenin de etkisiyle siyasal liderliğin daha da önem kazandığını söylemek mümkündür. Nitekim Türk siyasal hayatına yön veren faktörün ideolojiler kadar belki daha etkili bir şekilde liderler olduğu görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada da 100 yıllık Cumhuriyet tarihinin seçimle iş başına gelen ve en uzun süre iktidarda kalmayı başaran lideri olarak Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’ın liderliği dönüşümcü liderlik teorisi çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Genel liderlik ve siyasal liderlik tanımlarının ardından dönüşümcü liderlik teorisinin temel parametrelerinin açıklanacağı çalışmada son olarak söz konusu parametreler ışığında Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’ın liderlik pratiklerinden örnekler verilecektir. İçinde bulunduğumuz asrın çok hızlı toplumsal ve siyasal dönüşümlere sahne olması literatürde toplumların bu dönüşüme ayak uydurması için gerekli performansı gösteren dönüşümcü lider profilinin ele alındığı çalışmaların sayısının artmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada da 90’lı yıllardan sonra Türkiye’de yaşanan dönüşüm sürecine liderin katkısının ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır. İkincil kaynak taraması yöntemiyle hazırlanan çalışmada Erdoğan’ın söylem ve icraatları esas alınarak bir değerlendirme yapılacaktır.
Leadership is a function seen in all human societies as a necessity of living together. When the mass to be led is the whole society, the dimension of leadership turns into political leadership and becomes one of the most important themes of political science. In Türkiye, it is possible to say that political leadership has gained more importance with the effect of political culture and social imagination. As a matter of fact, it is seen that the factor that directs Turkish political life is the leaders, perhaps more effectively than the ideologies. In this study, the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as the leader who was elected and managed to stay in power for the longest time in the 100-year history of the Re- public, is discussed within the framework of transformational leadership theory. After the definitions of general leadership and political leadership, the main parameters of the transformational leadership theory will be explained, and finally, examples from the leadership practices of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be given in the light of these parameters. The fact that the century we are living in has witnessed very rapid social and political transformations has led to an increase in the number of studies in the literature dealing with the transformational leader profile, which shows the necessary performance for societies to keep up with this transformation. In this study, the aim is to reveal the contribution of the leader to the transformation process experienced in Türkiye after the 90s. In the study, which was prepared with the secondary literature review method, an evaluation will be made on the basis of Erdogan's discourse and actions.
